The Archetypes Burst In: Open Access + 3D Scans
19th century plaster casts, 3D scans, and modern museums' open access policies
My presentation at the REAL2016 3D scanning conference in San Francisco contrasts 19th century museums’ plaster casts with modern museums’ 3D scans. I show examples of how people have made use of my scans, and museums that aren’t sharing their 3D data with the public.

I’ll post occasional stories here about universal access technology and design, 3D scanning and replicating artwork, and, soon, important updates about my freedom of information lawsuit in Paris against musée Rodin, in which I’m seeking to establish public access to all French national museum’s 3D scans of public domain works.
